PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent malfunction of a power window by suspending the transferring motion of the window body to the opening direction when an external force detected by a sensor exceeds a specified value and the driving load detected by a load detector exceeds a specified value.
SOLUTION: Both specified positions P1, P2 of a window glass 4 are set at specified values respectively. If something is caught by the window glass when it positions at the closing side from the specified position, it is regarded that it is caught at the front side 2a. And hence, if a foreign material is detected on the basis of a window frame sensor 7 when the window glass 4 is positioned in the closing side from the first specified position P1, it is accurately detected that the foreign material is caught since a signal B1a showing the driving load of a motor 5 having much rate of detection error is not included. If something is caught when the window glass is positioned at the opening side from the second specified position P2, it is regarded that the rate of error included in the signal 81a is less. In this way, something caught can be accurately detected without influence of disturbances.
