To provide an efficient motor wherein the range of compressive stress applied to an electromagnetic steel plate is narrowed to reduce iron loss and the inclination of an entire stator core is reduced to maintain the uniformity of the gap between a stator and a rotor.

The motor is constructed of: a rotor 4 fixed on a rotating shaft 2; and a stator 3 that is disposed on the outer circumferential surface of the rotor 4 with a small gap in-between, and fixed on a support frame 28 with bolts 6. Bolt insertion holes 9 for inserting the bolts 6 are formed in the stator core 8 of the stator 3. Stress relaxation holes 10 are formed around the bolt insertion holes 9.
