SOLUTION: A plurality of engaging tools 4... such as L-shaped fittings re mounted on the upper section and lower section of the rear of a decorative block 2 by bolts 5.... A plurality of engaging tools 6 such as L-shaped fittings are set up symmetrically to the engaging tools 6 of the decorative block 2 by bolts 5 on the surface of an existing old retaining wall 1. The decorative blocks 2 are placed on the surface of the retaining wall 1, the engaging tools 4 of the decorative blocks 2 are engaged with the engaging tools 6 of the surface of the retaining wall 1, and space sections 7 formed among the surface of the retaining wall 1 and the decorative blocks 2 are filled with mortar 3, etc. Accordingly, since the existing retaining wall is converted into new one without removal, a construction period can be shortened, labor be lightened and cost be reduced.
