PURPOSE: To easily and exactly move a X-Y table in an arbitrary direction by an arbitrary amount without operating a joystick and inputting the numerical value of a moving amount.

CONSTITUTION: This device is provided with a X-Y table 4 movably arranged in X and Y directions, driving devices 5x, 5y for moving it in the respective directions by an arbitrary moving amount, a camera for photographing the table 4, a display device 8 for displaying the image on a screen and a mouse 9 moving a marker M to an arbitrary position on the screen. The device is also provided with a movement start point setting means 11 for detecting the X-Y coordinates of an arbitrary position of starting point of movement, movement end point setting means 12 for detecting the X-Y coordinates of an arbitrary position of end point of movement, a moving amount setting means 13 for calculating moving amounts in the respective directions based on the X-Y coordinates of the starting point and the end point and a controller 14 outputting a movement control signal to the driving devices 5x, 5y based on the respective calculated moving amounts.
