PURPOSE: To facilitate forward and backward movement of a dredger, by a method wherein a barge for moving is pivotally supported to the rear of the dredger so that the barge can be laterally rocked, and spuds are mounted to the fronts and the rears of both boards of the barge so that they can be vertically moved and longitudinally rocked.

CONSTITUTION: A barge 1 for walking is pivotally supported to the rear of a dredger 15 so that it can be laterally rocked and spuds 7 are mounted to the fronts and the rears of both boards of the barge 1 so that they are made elevatable and can be longitudinally rocked. The spuds 7 are longitudinally rocked by means of a cylinder 6, the front spuds 7 are elevated by means of wire ropes 8 and 9 and a winding drum 10, and the rear spuds 7 by means of a winding drum 11. This enables forward and backward movement of the dredger through spud moving of the barge.
