PURPOSE: To provide a protecting device of a movable cable which can execute the scaffolding-free installation method without burning the moving cable during the welding work.

CONSTITUTION: A protecting device of the moving cable which is connected from the machinery room to an operating equipment from the lower surface of the boarding cage floor, protects the moving cable 4 to transmit the operation signal to the machinery room when a temporarily assembled cage 3 is traveled by operating an operating equipment of the cage 3 within the elevator shaft 11 where the guide rail is temprarily mounted, and the equipment within the elevator shaft 11 is installed by using the boarding cage floor as the working floor, is provided with a suspended part protecting tool 5 which covers the circumferential surface of the suspended part in the vicinity of the boarding cage 3 of the moving cable 4 and is mounted on the boarding cage 3, a U-shaped protecting tool 7 which is arranged to cover the circumferential surface of the moving cable 4 in the vicinity of the boarding cage floor 3B and a plurality of rollers 7a which are mounted on the U-shaped protecting tool 7 and rollably hold the circumferential surface of the moving cable 4. This constitution allows the efficient installation of the elevator and reduces the installation cost.
