Abstract:
To provide a technique for improving coding efficiency by performing block division suitable for image coding and decoding.SOLUTION: A moving image coding device includes a merge candidate list construction unit that builds a merge candidate list, a first merge candidate selection unit that selects a first merge candidate which is a simple prediction corresponding to a first merge partition from the merge candidate list, and a second merge candidate selection unit that selects a second merge candidate which is a simple prediction corresponding to a second merge partition from the merge candidate list, and motion information of a block including both the first merge partition and the second merge partition is saved as simple predicted motion information of either the first merge candidate or a second triangular merge candidate.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
