PURPOSE: To easily perform sterilization and algicidal treatment by a simple device and to achieve cost reduction by constituting a moving type sea area cleaning device of a float, the anode and cathode attached in opposed relation to the float, a float moving means and a power supply applying voltage across the anode and the cathode.
CONSTITUTION: The moving type sea area cleaning device 2 is constituted of a float 3, the anode and cathode attached in opposed relation to the float 3, the propelling motor 11 and propeller 12 as the moving means of the float, a solar cell 7 applying voltage across the anode 4 and cathode 5 to supply a current and a buttery 8. When voltage is applied across the anode 4 and the cathode 5 in such a state that the float 3 is moved in the state floated on the surface of a closed sea area to supply a current, electrolysis is performed to generate chlorine gas from the anode 4 in the seawater of the closed sea area. This chlorine gas is dissolved in seawater to generate hypochlorous acid which is, in turn, ionized to form a hydrogen ion and a hypochlorite ion and the seawater within the sea area is subjected to sterilization and algicidal treatment by hypochlorous acid and the hypochlorite ion.
