Title:
MOVING WALK FOR MULTI-LANE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH07206346
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To reduce the occupying area of a U-turn part by a method wherein when a two or more lane walk is constructed, the inside walk of a first lane has a forward path and a backward path adjoin each other, the moving walk of a second lane has a forward path and a backward path built outside in parallel to another forward path and another backward path, respectively.

CONSTITUTION: A belt as a moving walk is bent downward at double rolls 4 and 5 at the tip of a forward passage and after bending around a central part 3 being a fold line, the belt is brought into a completely double-folded state by double rolls 6 and 8 as a U-turn rolls. The belt passes double rolls 6' and 8' after the paths of them through a guide roll 7 are completely opened by double rolls 4' and 5' right before a base point as the belt is gradually opened toward above. The belt is returned to an original belt for walking and advanced as a backward belt. Meanwhile, the belt for walking on a second lane is advanced in a similar manner described above through the double rolls 4 and 5, the U-turn rolls 6B and 8B, a guide roll 9, double rolls 6B' and 8B' so that a forward path B and a backward path B' are formed outside the first lane A.
