PURPOSE: To obtain a mower, capable of reducing the whole weight thereof and producible at a low cost, by rotatably inserting and holding vertical shafts respectively having a cutter in the lower part through bearings in a bearing case integrally formed with a mower deck in a projecting form.
CONSTITUTION: Power is transmitted from a power take-off(PTO) shaft 32 of a trawl car to an input shaft 31 of a gear case 30 to drive the central vertical shaft (28S) and simultaneously drive two vertical shafts (28L) and (28R) on the driven side through a belt transmitting means 43. The respective vertical shafts 28 are rotated about the shaft centers through a bearing case 64 relatively to bearing cases 63 integrally formed with a mower deck 26 to cut grass with cutters 29 in the lower part. In the process, force by vibration or weight from the bearing cases 63 can be received within as wide a range of the deck 26 as possible and a fear of stress concentration on the deck 26 is eliminated. In addition to the above-mentioned characteristics of the afore-mentioned mower, air flow for sending cut grass is also improved with hardly any entanglement of grass in the cases 63.
