Abstract:
To address a problem caused by the need for an expensive scanner for laser spot welding.SOLUTION: A multiple fiber laser output system delivers at least three fiber outputs located in a circumferential pattern or at least four separate laser outputs from a single processing cable. The system controls at least three laser modules, and can deliver output of each of those modules in the single processing cable in a prescribed order, thereby providing a plurality of processing steps for a work-piece which has so far required separate optical system for each beam. At least three laser outputs are optimized for use thereof when creating spot welds, seam welds, or virtual wobble welds, when the same is used for seam welding.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
