Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a head mounted display device provided with a compact enlarging optical system capable of correcting the occurrence of distortion aberration in the outermost of axis approximately 5% in spite of a wide picture angle with the 30° or above horizontal picture angle.
CONSTITUTION: In the head mounted display device provided with a display element D, an optical system L+R enlarging and projecting the display contents of the display element D to the eyeball as a virtual image without image forming it in an optical path and an optical axis bending means P bending the optical axis of the optical system, the optical axis bending means P is constituted of a beam splitter prism provided with a translucent surface, and whose prism surface of the display element D side is constituted of an aspherical surface r11. The aspherical surface r11 changes from positive power to negative power relatively according to aparting from the optical axis.
