Abstract:

PURPOSE: To realize a multi-path elimination filter capable of converging the multi-path component surely in a short time.
CONSTITUTION: A digital signal including a multi-path component received at an input terminal 10 is given at first to an adaptive filter 15 provided to a reflected wave characteristic detection section 13, in which adaptive operation to eliminate the multi-path component is conducted and a filter characteristic update section 21 updates the filter coefficient of a digital filter 18 comprising the FIR filter of a low degree. A reflected wave characteristic estimate section 16 estimates the reflection coefficient and the delay time of reflected wave included in the digital signal based on the filter coefficient after the lapse of a prescribed time and provides an output to a controller 14. The controller 14 initializes the delay time of a delay element and the multiplication coefficient of the multiplier element of a digital filter 23 comprising the primary IIR filter of the multi-path elimination adaptive filter 11 based on the received estimate values. Then the multi-path elimination adaptive filter 11 conduct the adaptive operation to eliminate a multi-path component.
