Abstract:
The invention relates to a process for bleaching chemically produced pulp with ozone, in connection with a defibration step. Whereas chlorine is used in existing bleaches, it has now been found that the bleaching step proceeds more economically and with less pollution of the environment if the pulp is treated with nitric oxide or nitric acid and ozone while it is subjected to a defibration step.
