Abstract:
PURPOSE: To carry out an operation of a multi-beam microwave tube under a high frequency by making an electron-beam pass through cavity groups which consist of (n) pieces of cavities respectively, and driving the cavities which belong to the identical cavity group under identical frequency, frequency phase in a fundamental mode, and making the cavity groups resonant under a single frequency respectively. CONSTITUTION: (n) pieces electron-beam 2 is formed with a multi-beam klystron electron gun 1, and pass through a plurality of cavity groups 100, 200, 300, 400 consisting of (n) pieces of cavities. Cavities 10, 20, 30, 40 belonging to a same cavity group are identical, and operate in a fundamental mode of same frequency. Accordingly, each cavity group makes resonance under a single frequency, and cavities belonging to a same cavity group are driven under the identical frequency, frequency phase in their principal mode. Consequently, it is possible to carry out an operation of a multi-beam microwave tube under high frequency.
