PURPOSE: To obtain a communication system by which a desired channel can be exactly selected by a small scale circuit regardless of the state of the other channel.
CONSTITUTION: A multiplex communication system which transmits digital signals at plural channels, is equipped with a transmitting means which writes channel identification information in a transmission frame, receiving means which receives a multiplex signal, and reads the channel identification information, means which stores or operates a relation between an oscillation frequency and a frequency control signal, and means which applies the optimal frequency control signal based on the channel identification signal. And also, this system is equipped with a receiving means which selects only the channel coincident with the designated selected channel from among the received digital signals at the plural channels, based on the information from a carrier information reading circuit 14, D/A converting means which analog-converts a digital video signal at the selected channel, and video signal processing means which reproduces a base band video signal from the analog video signal after the analog-conversion.
