Abstract:
To perform a half-tone treatment of a sample value from a strength range by selecting a threshold array having the same range as the strength range and by using the threshold array selected.
A threshold array 112 has two parts 120 and 122. One part is a threshold array 120 with 8 bit width and an 8 bit threshold value against the sample value is 8 bit. The other part is a threshold array 122 with 16 bit width and a 16 bit threshold value against the sample value is 16 bit. A threshold value with a wider width can be used with an input superior in higher accuracy with 6553 levels color instead of 256 levels.
