Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To machine a four-sided mortise joint via numerical control with a computer.
SOLUTION: The first opposite faces 5MA, 5MB and the second opposite faces 6MA, 6MB among the first, second, and third opposite faces of the conventional four-sided mortise joint are left as they are, the third opposite faces are newly modified to the third opposite faces 5FA, (5FB) and NC machining is applied by a router. Mass production is made without losing strength, a three-sided joint and a two-sided joint can be mass-produced, and the joint structure of an arch portion can be manufactured.
