Title:
MULTIFILAMENT YARN
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5516930
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: A multifilament yarn in which 9 number of filaments having different properties from each other and thickness varying in the lengthwise direction are distributed under special conditions to form a yarn with apparently uniform thickness, which is subjected to false twisting for forming fluffs to give a spun-like yarn.

CONSTITUTION: A multifilament yarn of polyester, which consists of filaments of uneven thickness in the lengthwise direction, having fine and coarce parts, in which the distribution of the filament in the cross section are separated into 15W70% of the coarse group and 85W30% of fine group, the number of fine or coarse parts is over 300 per 10 cm length of the filament and the number of fine or coarse filaments on a cross section is near the average. Such multifilament yarn is produced by bringing an undrawn and bended yarn into contact with a high friction body in the drawing zone at a temperature below the glass transition point of the polymer.
