Title:
MULTIPLE-CLAW DISC CHUCK
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH068017
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To inexpensively carry out multiple cutting and high precision machining by gripping a workpiece by way of drawing it to a stopper by means of using deflection of an elastic disc installed with a large number of parent claws.

CONSTITUTION: When external force to push in the direction of a machined article 9 is added by a draw bar 3, an elastic disc 1 is deflected from a medium position in the direction of the machined article 9 and child claws 8 fixed on parent claws 6 open. When the draw bar 3 is pulled, the child claws 8 close and make contact with the machined article 9. Thereafter, until reaction force is generated on a stopper 7, the elastic disc 1 receives a concentrated load on its center, and as a disc to fix the periphery or, when reaction force is generated on the stopper 7, as a disc to fix the periphery with a position to install the parent claws 6 as its fulcrum, stress and deflection are considered in strength of materials, and component force to draw the workpiece 9 to the stopper 7 is proportional to the installation position of the parent claws 6 and component force in the diametrical direction is proportional to its tangent.
