PURPOSE: To always and stably perform a reception by adapting to the change of a reception environment by deciding a reception state from a calculated error rate and varying and setting the frequency band width of frame data to be extracted by an extraction means based on the result.

CONSTITUTION: The information that an error rate measuring circuit 22 outputs is outputted to a display controller 20 and a reception state decision circuit 31. The circuit 31 decides which of three stages of a strong electric field, a medium electric field and a week electric field, for instance, the reception state is in according to the contents from the circuit 22 and transmits the setting signals corresponding to the decision result to a BPF 32 and a PLL circuit 33. This BPF 32 extracts only the 76kHz band of the sub-carrier wave frequency on which digital data is multiplexed from the FM detection signals transmitted from an FM intermediate frequency detection circuit 13 and outputs the band to a data demodulation circuits 15 and 33. The band width at the time of the extraction is varied to the three stages corresponding to the setting signal from the circuit 31.
