Abstract:
PURPOSE: To generate a musically natural pitch series and to reduce storage capacity by giving musical source data an identifier indicating the musical meaning of each sound in a series of musical tone, decoding the pitches of respective sounds according to a speciffed code function, and inspecting and properly correcting the decoding result.
CONSTITUTION: An accompaniment source data memory 112 stores accompaniment source data (music source data) for accompaniments of various accompaniment styles. The accompaniment source data represent a series of accompaniment sounds including harmonic sounds and unharmanic sounds with a series of identifiers of respective sounds. In automatic accompaniment mode, a CPU 102 detects the root and type of a code specified with a keyboard depression pattern in order in the left-hand area of a keyboard 118. On the basis of accompaniment styles given the respective identifiers of the accompaniment sounds in the accompaniment source data memory 112 and the code function, musical decoding is performed to perform conversion into pitch data, and the pitch decoding result is musically tested and properly corrected.
