Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL:The N-carbamoylamino acid derivative of formula I (R1 is 1W4C alkyl) or its pharmacologically permissible salt or its ester.
EXAMPLE: N-[N-Methyl-N-(2-phenetyl-2-carboxyethyl)carbamoyl]-L-proline.
USE: Remedy for hypertension, cardiac insufficiency, etc. It has strong inhibiting activity against angiotensinase, and exhibits no side effect.
PROCESS: The compound of formula I can be prepared, e.g. by (1) reacting the β- amino acid derivative of formula II with phosgene to obtain the N-chlorocarbonylamino acid derivative of formula III, (2) reacting the compound with the α-amino acid derivative of formula IV, and (3) hydrolyzing the resultant N- carbamoylamino acid derivative of formula V.
