Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain N-methyl-nimodipine as a compd. for use as a drug active to a brain and as a pro-prug of nimodipine.

CONSTITUTION: The N-methyl-nimodipine is isopropyl-2-methoxyethyl 1,2,6- trimethyl-4-(3-nitrophenyl)-1,4-dihydropyridine-3,5-dicarboxylate in the form of a racemate or (+)- or (-)-enantiomer. It is used as a drug, in particular a drug active to a brain.
