Abstract:

To provide an ND filter unit which is compact and of which light transmission can be changed in a large number of steps.SOLUTION: An ND filter unit 1 has a first filter member 4 and a second filter member 10, which can move between a block position where first and second optical filter parts 42A and 102A block an optical path and an evacuation position where the first and second optical filter parts 42A and 102A are evacuated from the optical path. The optical attenuation state is switched between a non-optical attenuation state, where the first and second filter members 4 and 10 have moved to an evacuation position, a single optical attenuation state, where one of the first and second filter members 4 and 10 has moved to the block position and the other has moved to the evacuation position, and a double optical attenuation state, where the first and second filter members 4 and 10 have moved to the block position.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
