Abstract:

To provide a nucleotide sequence encoding a meganuclease, enzyme I-SceI.

This invention relates to a DNA sequence providing a promoter operatively linked to an isolated DNA and comprising a specific sequence encoding the enzyme I-SceI. The DNA sequence can be incorporated in cloning and expression vectors, transformed cell lines of mammalian cells, plant cells and the like and transgenic animals. The vectors involve gene mapping and site-specific insertion of genes.
