Abstract:

To provide a nail cutting device for a disabled person solving problems wherein although the disabled whose one hand is paralyzed or disabled due to sickness or an injury can cut his/her fingernails and toenails by himself/ herself, he/she cannot cut those of his/her healthy hand side and is forced to ask other people to cut them.

The device comprises a method utilizing foot motion instead of the disabled hand. A nail cutting gear body 1 is fixed on a nail cutting gear holding pin 2 provided on a nail cutting gear holding base 5 installed on a wrist loading table 8. A tip of an edge closing lever 6 is connected with a chain 3 of which an end is fixed to a pedal 4. Treading on the pedal 4 is able to open and close the edge of the nail cutting gear to cut the nails. Allowing the nail cutting gear body to oscillate from side to side by fulcruming the nail cutting gear holding pin is capable of freely adjusting an angle against roundness of the nails. Moving the nails on a surface of a file allows the nails to be finished.
