Abstract:
PURPOSE:To automatically and continuously take the image of suspended matters in water in a natural state and the precise image of the matters themselves. CONSTITUTION:The bell-shaped outer cylinder 2 and image detecting probe 1 of the title device are always submerged underwater and the air in the cylinder 2 is evacuated until the water in the cylinder 2 reaches a high level at which specimen water flows in the specimen saucer 19 of the probe 1 through the opening of the saucer 19. Then the water level in the cylinder 2 is lowered from the level of the opening of the saucer 19 by feeding compressed air into the cylinder 2 and an image pickup means is controlled so as to take the picture of the specimen water remaining in the first space 19-1 of the saucer 19 having a wide vertical width and second space 19-2 having a narrow vertical width with a TV camera 14 at a low and high magnifications while the specimen water is irradiated with lighting equipment. After taking the image, the specimen water is blown off by blowing air into the saucer 19 from the blowing port 112 of a blow pipe 111, and then, sequence control is performed to control an air regulating device so that the air in the cylinder 2 can be evacuated until the water in the cylinder 2 reaches the high level.
