Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a shock absorbing trim capable of absorbing energy exerted on an occupant on a vehicle at the time of a secondary collision, without using a shock-absorbing member composed of other parts.

CONSTITUTION: The trim base member 18 of a door trim 10 is composed of the upper and lower trim base members 20 and 22, and every base member is formed by laminating plural platelike raw materials 20A and 20B and raw materials 22A and 22B. Consequently, when an occupant on a vehicle is subjected to a secondary collision in the arrow B and C directions with a load in the arrow A direction applied to the front door, respective raw materials of the trim base member 18 is separated to absorb energy to this separation. That is, the energy at the time of the secondary collision, exerted on the occupant on the vehicle, can be absorbed by the trim base members 18 themselves. Also narrowing an effective space in a vehicle cabin can be eliminated.
