Abstract:
PURPOSE: To control the coating thickness of the title recording medium so as to be definite by means of an extrusion-type coating head.
CONSTITUTION: In a state that the back of a running web 6 is not supported, an extrusion-type coating head 7 is pressed relatively to the web. A coating liquid is extruded from at least one slit in the coating head, and a support body is coated with the liquid. A coating-part tension exerted per cm of the width of the support body 6 is set within a range indicated as follows: 0.06< T<0.7.E (MD).t (where T: the coating-part tension [kg/cm] per cm of the width of the support body, t: the thickness [cm] of the support body, and E (MD): Young's modulus [kg/cm2] of the support body in an MD direction). It is possible to obtain the title recording medium in which the thickness of a magnetic coating film is definite.
