Abstract:
PURPOSE:To provide an optical modulator superior in optical propagation characteristics without necessary to be manufactured an optical waveguide and its surrounding with a piezoelectric material and being easy manufacturing and to provide a laser beam source device to supply stable laser beams and an optical measuring instrument capable of a current detection. CONSTITUTION:The device is constituted of a substrate 1 consisting of a material able to propagate a surface acoustic wave, a comb shaped electrode 3 formed on the substrate 1 and generating the surface elastic wave, a reflector 4 being formed on the substrate 1 and reflecting the surface acoustic wave by the comb shaped electrode 3 and the optical waveguide 5 formed at a position of the belly of the standing wave. Also the laser beam source device is used as a laser beam source of the optical measuring instrument.
