PURPOSE: To provide a device and the method, which can continuously mount a tape on a band shaped object.

CONSTITUTION: The title device is equipped with unreels 1, 1', which contain double face tapes B, C, mounting rollers 6, 6', 6A, 6A', which mount the double face tapes on a band shaped object A which is continuously fed, guide rollers 4, 4' to feed the double face tapes from the unreels to the mounting rollers, and discharge rollers 9, 9', 10, 10' to discharge release papers D, E which are removed from the double face tapes. When the tape B has been used up, mounting of the spare tape C is started, and during this period, an unreel containing a new tape is kept loaded on the unreel 1.
