Abstract:

PURPOSE: To simplify teaching by preliminarily storing in an industrial robot the value of electric current and voltage for processing a crater and the filler time of a crater.
CONSTITUTION: A robot body R is provided with a signal for moving a controller C to a welding starting point (a). At the point of arrival of the robot body R at the arc-ON point (a), an arc-ON is instructed from the controller C to the welder W. A signal is also transmitted when the robot body R arrives at an arc-OFF point (b). Transmission is made on the set values of electric current and voltage for processing a crater, from the controller C to the welder W. Confirmation is made from the welder W to the controller C, acknowledging the current and the voltage are set. The robot body R is made to stand by at the same position by the controller C while the crater processing is done by the welder W. Thus, errors in teaching are eliminated.
