PURPOSE: To provide a breeding apparatus for experimental animals, etc., capable of automatically and efficiently carrying out feeding to plural bleeding parts using one feeder by solving defect originated in that an automatic feeder is provided in each bleeding apparatus.

CONSTITUTION: This breeding apparatus is provided with plural breeding parts arranged at plural stages in vertical direction and over plural rows in horizontal direction and a feeding unit 5 movably provided in horizontal direction around bleeding rows and simultaneously, capable of distributing and supplying feed to a breeding part in each stage belonging to the rows in the position corresponding to each row. The breeding apparatus is controlled so as to supply feed only to the breeding part necessary for feed among the breeding part at each stage belonging to the row to the feeding unit moved until the position corresponding to each row. Feed detection sensors 6a to 6c for detecting whether feeding to breeding part at each stage belonging to each breeding part row is required are preferably further provided in the breeding apparatus.
