PURPOSE: To obtain the photosensitive body which has an excellent sensitivity and durability and is adequate particularly as a printer using visible light as a light source by using specific bisazo compds. as a charge generating material.
CONSTITUTION: One or ≥2 kinds of the bisazo compds. expressed by formula I are incorporated as the charge generating layer into the electrophotographic sensitive body constituted by providing the charge generating material and a charge transfer material on a conductive base. In the formula I, Cp denotes the couple residue expressed by formula II or formula III. In the formulas II, III, R1, R2 and R3 denote alkyl, aryl or aralkyl group which may have a substituent; R4 denotes a hydrogen atom, carboxyl group or its ester group or alkyl, carbamoyl or amino group which may have a substituent. These bisazo compds. are obtd. by producing, for example, a corresponding dinitro compd., reducing this compd. to convert a nitro group to an amino group, then converting this group to tetrazbnium and coupling the tetrazonium with a prescribed coupler.
