Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a data recording disk device with an improved breather filter assembly removing both of chemically contaminated material and particulate material.
CONSTITUTION: The filter assembly 60 is provided with a housing with an internal passage and a hollow 66 involving chemical and particulate filter element and fixing them. The passage within the filter housing enables fluid communication between a breather opening part 64 and a chemical filter material. A barrier plate 74 is placed also at the hollow of the filter housing adjacent to the side of a chemical filter sheet which is not exposed to air from this passage. The barrier plate prevents the flowing of air through the chemical filter material and turns the direction of air to flow across the surface of the chemical filter sheet 72. After the flow of air by the chemical filter sheet, air turns its direction to pass through the element of a particulate filter 78 to enter the enclose of the disk device.
