PURPOSE: To rapidly measure a temperature and sample by inserting a sleeve made of refractory heat insulator into inside of a protective tube for forming an outer wall in a sublance to be used to measure the temperature and to sample and using its hollow hole as an insertion passage of a temperature measuring cable.

CONSTITUTION: A sublance 14 is used to measure the temperature of a molten steel and to sample it. In this case, a sleeve 12 made of refractory heat insulator is inserted into inside of a protective tube 11 for forming an outer wall of the sublance 14, and a hollow hole of the sleeve 12 is used as a temperature measuring cable insertion passage. On the other hand, a sublance holder 16 fixed to a rotary shaft parallel to the sublance 14 is attached to a sublance replacing unit of a temperature measuring and sampling apparatus. A plurality of sublance bearers 26 are telescopically mounted on an outer periphery of the holder 16 through a lance supply cylinder 25. Further, the sublance 14 is delivered at a sublance stand-by position of a sublance elevator.
