Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a magnetic recording medium having high sliding and corrosion resistance, satisfactory durability and high reliability.
CONSTITUTION: A nonmagnetic plating layer 12, an under film 13, a magnetic film 14, a carbon protective film 15 and a lubricative layer 16 of an org. polymer lubricant are laminated on a substrate 11 to obtain the objective magnetic recording medium having ≤0.31nm radius of gaps each between molecules of the org. polymer lubricant forming the lubricative layer 16. Since the gaps are small, corrosive molecules, molecules of water, etc., cannot reach the magnetic film.
