PURPOSE: To provide a hardenable composition used for the missing part or the like of bone and tooth, to achieve the practically easy processing, a high mechanical and adhesive strength, wherein the composition is prepared by calcium phosphate powder, polyacrylic acid or copolymer of acrylic acid with the other kind of unsaturated organic acid, and polysaccharide compounds.
CONSTITUTION: The hardenable composition is prepared from the following; (1) powder of calcium phosphate containing 0.01-5.0wt.% of polyvinylpyrrolidone, and (2) an aqueous solution (a hardening agent) containing 10.0-40.0wt.% of polyacrylic acid or copolymer comprising acrylic acid and the other species of unsaturated organic acid, and 0.1-10.0wt.% of at least one polysaccharide compounds selected from the group consisting of ethylcellulose, sodium chondroitin sulfate, sodium dextran sulfate, etc. The calcium phosphate powder consists of α-tricalcium phosphate and/or calcium quarternary phosphate thereby the surface of powder is coated with polyvinyl pyrrolidone.
