PURPOSE: To provide a wood drying device and method which reduce a drying cost, save a space and a labor, perform excellent drying of the interior and produce a drying state of good quality.

CONSTITUTION: A wood drying device comprises a drying device body (can body) 1 formed such that a plurality of chambers 1a each containing a single material to be dried (wood) are removably attached; a vacuum means 2 coupled to the can body 1; a heating means 3 coupled to the can body 1; and a computer 4 to control the vacuum means 2 and the heating means 3. Further, the wood drying device is provided with a temperature regulator 5 to regulate the temperature of a material to be dried in linkage with the computer 4; a pressure regulator 6 to regulate the degree of the vacuum in the chamber 1a of the can body 1 in linkage with the computer 4; and a drain collecting can 8 to collect water from the material to be dried collected from the can body 1.
