PURPOSE: To obtain a composition for oral cavity, capable of suppressing and improving inflammation of the gingiva and producing excellent effects on prevention of pyorrhea alveolaris and gingivitis.

CONSTITUTION: This composition for oral cavity is characterized by preserving a raw leaf of green tea under anaerobic conditions, then subjecting the preserved raw leaf of the green tea to steam heating and/or drying treatment, pulverizing the resultant leaf of the green tea and blending the prepared powder therein.
