Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide an electrolytic abrasive grain polishing method in which the highly efficient specular finishing of stainless steel is carried out by a free abrasive grain system using urethane polishing material in high current density.
CONSTITUTION: The surface of a work piece of stainless steel is processed by electrolytic abrasive grain polishing with an electrode tool using urthane polishing material, while supplying electrolytic liquid together with free abrasive grains to the working part. In this case, the electrolytic abrasive grain polishing is carried out in high current density of 100-500mA/cm2, while pressing the urethane polishing material against the work piece by pressing pressure of 10-20kPa. Hereby, the roughness can be high-efficiently improved.
