Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for scrolling an on-screen display by using an on-screen display data contained in an encoded video signal representing an video image.
SOLUTION: This on-screen display processor is provided with a means 140 for decoding an on-screen display data contained in an encoded video signal, a memory means 130 containing a 1st- and 2nd buffers, an on-screen display processing means 170 for storing a sequence line group of the on-screen display data line in the 1st buffer, alternately storing successive groups of the sequence lines of the 2nd and 1st buffers, and shifting each successive group by one line in the sequence with respect to the group of the previous line, and a display means 150, for alternately displaying the on-screen display data from the 1st and 2nd buffers in synchronization with the storing of the successive groups in the 2nd and 1st buffers each and displaying the finally stored line group.
