Abstract:
PURPOSE: To repair a housing economically without disturbing a reactor by taking out the housing to be repaired in a core and performing ultrasonic inspection of a welded part, inspection after buildup welding, and inspection after fixing a new housing.
CONSTITUTION: A core housing 144 requiring repair is recognized by inspecting a welded part of a bottom head 110 and the top head 108 of a vessel is removed from the side wall 112 thereof. When all fuel bundles 114 are removed from a core region 104, an access part 146 passing through the core region 104 is provided. Consequently, a scanner 150 and other repairing apparatus can be inserted into a lower high pressure chamber 120 through the access part 146. When the housing 144 and a welded part for jointing the housing to the bottom head 110 are repaired, the housing 144 designated to be repaired is removed and ultrasonic inspection is performed for the welded area of the bottom head 110. Subsequently, a buildup welding part is provided and subjected to ultrasonic inspection and a new housing 144 is inserted and welded and then the welded part is subjected to ultrasonic inspection.
