PURPOSE: To obtain the subject composition containing a specified amidebetaine type amphoteric surfactant, a nonionic surfactant, a water-soluble solvent and water, excellent in detergency and foaming properties, capable of long-term storage at a low temperature without deterioration and free from stimulation to the skin of the hand.
CONSTITUTION: This composition contains (A) 0.1 to 30wt.% amidebetaine type amphoteric surfactant (preferably laurylamidepropyl-N,Ndimethyl-acetic acid betaine, etc.) of formula I or II [R1 is a 6 to 22C straight- or branched-chain alkyl or alkenyl; R2 and R3 are each a 1 to 5C alkyl which may be substituted with OH; X is H or OH; m is 0 to 5; n is ≥1; p+q is 0 to4], (B) 0.1 to 30wt.% noionic surfactant (preferably an aliphatic alkanolamide), (C) 0.1 to 50wt.% water-soluble solvent (preferably 1,8-octanediol, etc.) and (D) water. Further addition of a metal ion blocking agent such as citric acid is preferable from the viewpoint of improvement of detergency.
