PURPOSE: To provide a silver halide photographic sensitive material high in sensitivity and sharpness and resistant to scratching on its surface and good in coating property.

CONSTITUTION: The silver halide photographic sensitive material is characterized by having on an opaque support at least one photosensitive silver halide emulsion layer and at least each one of hydrophilic colloidal layers and containing a gelatin in this emulsion layer less than those in both hydrophilic colloidal layers and further a fluorescent whitening agent in this emulsion layer and its adjacent lower layer.
