Abstract:
PURPOSE:To prevent trouble resulting from battery life by sensing the gradient of discharge voltage sink and the final discharging period voltage when the discharged state has been entered, and thereupon judging capacity decrease and the residual lifetime. CONSTITUTION:When a battery is charged for more than TAhr, a timer for measuring the discharge time is reset to the TBhr. If a charging time TC=1/2TA is attained in the charged state TC, the timer set time also become TD 1/2TB in proportion to shrinkage of the charged state, and the voltage drop gradient at discharging is constant substantially. When the voltage drops at a speed quicker than the reference gradient thus determined, to attain the final discharging period voltage VF, the capacity decrease is displayed as well as the remaining lifetime. If the speed of voltage drop is slower than this reference gradient and the final discharging period voltage VF is attained, display is made as simple capacity decrease along with another display that the capacity can be restored if only charging is conducted. This prevents trouble resulting from battery life.
