PURPOSE: To obtain a safe herbicide composition exhibiting excellent herbicidal effect on various broad-leaved weeds and narrow-leaved weeds at a low rate of application and having little phytotoxicity to corn.
CONSTITUTION: This herbicide composition contains, as active components, (A) a urea compound of the formula I [Ar is group of the formula II (R1 to R5 are H, lower alkyl or lower alkoxy; R6 is H, lower alkyl, lower alkoxy or OH; R1 and R5, or R5 and R6 may be bonded with each other to form an alkylene chain forming a 5- or 6-membered ring together with a C atom bonded thereto; the alkylene chain may be substituted with lower alkyl; R1 and R2 may be bonded with each other to form ethylenedioxy or R4 and R5 may be bonded with each other to form dichloromethylene); A is CX (X is H, Cl, NO2 or CF3); B is H, CH3 or OCH3] and (B) the compound of the formula III or at least one kind of compound selected from the compounds of the formulas III to V. The composition may be further incorporated with a spreading agent containing nonionic or anionic surfactant and/or a nitrogen fertilizer.
