Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide an age-hardening steel for metal mold for plastic molding excellent in mirror-like finishing characteristics and crimping characteristic and improved in anisotropy of strength.
CONSTITUTION: The steel has a composition containing, by weight, 0.05-0.18% C, ≤0.10% Si, 0.5-2.0% Mn, ≤0.01% P, 2.5-3.5% Ni, 0.1-0.4% Mo, 0.5-1.5% Al, and 0.7-2.5% Cu as basic alloy components, also containing the other proper alloy components, and having the balance Fe with impurities. By this method, the age-hardening steel for metal mold for plastic molding improved in anisotropy can be obtained.
