PURPOSE: To protect privacy by automatically distinguishing received information addressed to a specified individual corresponding to the relation of the transmission source by comparing image information and identification information to be received together with the image information with the information of the previously set transmission source and controlling the output destination of the received image information based on this result.

CONSTITUTION: The image information received by a facsimile communication processing part 1 is temporarily stored in a reception buffer 3, a transmission source ID sent from the call originating source together with the image information is extracted from the buffer 3, and a call originating station identification signal sent by a facsimile procedure is extracted. Next, the extracted transmission source ID is compared with a transmission source ID, which is previously stored in a transmission source ID memory 2 by a user, by using a data comparator circuit 4 and corresponding to the result, the output destination is controlled. Namely, when it is coincident with the transmission source ID, the received image information is stored from the buffer 3 into an image information memory 5 and this information is announced by a control panel 9. When it is not coincident, the information is not stored in the memory 5 but inputted to a decoding part 7 and printed by a printer 8.
